Dear Prospective Student (and Spouses and Parents!):

Thank you for your interest in Mississippi State University and the Department of Landscape Architecture, which is the only such program offered in the State of Mississippi. I hope that you are seriously considering attending MSU very soon. I am thrilled that you have an interest in the profession of landscape architecture, which is identified as one of the three fields or professions in the U.S.A. by the Department of Labor (2006) that is not only “hot” now but also expected to be “hot” and continue to receive a very high demand for many years to come. We would love to assist you in registering for classes and helping you in any way possible to prepare you not only for a successful education at MSU but also toward a successful career and future.

Our department offers three degrees in each of the following areas: a four-year bachelor’s degree in landscape architecture (B.L.A.), a four-year bachelor’s degree in landscape contracting (B.S.), and a two-year (plus) graduate degree in landscape architecture (M.L.A.). Many of our undergraduate students choose joint degrees in landscape architecture and landscape contracting as a means to broader career opportunities as well as faster career advancement. We also offer and facilitate an extensive internship program that continues to grow as our faculty, alumni and students expand their networks.
